Here is a short, no-nonsense review of the China-exclusive Honor Power (Model: DVD-AN80), released in April 2025. 

The Verdict

The Honor Power is built for one specific type of user: the battery-anxious. With an absolutely massive 8,000 mAh Silicon-Carbon battery, it practically eliminates the need for a charger during a standard two-day trip. It sacrifices top-tier camera specs to keep the price down, but it delivers an excellent screen and solid mid-range performance.

Pros & Cons

Pros:

• Endless Battery: The 8000 mAh capacity is nearly double what most modern flagships offer. You can game or watch videos all day without killing it.

• Stunning Display: The 6.78-inch AMOLED screen pushes 4000 nits of peak brightness with a crisp 1.5K resolution.

• Surprisingly Slim: Despite the giant battery, the phone is only 7.98mm thick and weighs 209g.

• Storage: Base models start at an impressive 256GB with UFS 3.1 speeds.

Cons:

• Basic Cameras: The 50MP main sensor is fine for daytime shots, but the 5MP ultrawide and 16MP front cameras are strictly average.

• Slower Data Transfers: It uses an outdated USB Type-C 2.0 port, which is sluggish if you plan to move large video files to a PC.

• No Headphone Jack: No 3.5mm audio port, which is often expected in mid-range battery-focused phones.

Key Specs

⚠️ A Note on Importing (Chinese ROM): Because this phone is geared toward the Chinese domestic market, it comes with a Chinese ROM baked in. It does not have the Google Play Store out of the box. However, international buyers have confirmed that Google Mobile Services (GMS) can be manually enabled and the Play Store can be downloaded through the native Honor App Store. Also, double-check your local 5G bands, as it may lack support for certain global frequencies.
